Over four decades have passed since the first Marex Boat was launched in Norway. The Marex boatyard was established in 1973 in Grimstad, a small town on the south coats of Norway. The founder of Marex and General manager for over 20 years was Eyvin Aalrud.

The Marex boatyard quickly became a success thanks to the vision of Eyvin Aalrud. From the beginning Marex has remained a family company, gradually becoming one of the most well regarded and stable European boat manufacturers in the leisure boat market.

The company is today owned and run by the founder’s two sons Espen and Thomas. Both brothers were born into the boat industry and are driven by a boundless passion for boating and the family business since they took over in 1989. Success has been achieved through excellent leadership, a focus on quality and consistent investment in advanced boat building technology.

Marex is known all over Europe for its quality, longevity and durability. Having receiving multiple awards over the past decade supported by both customers and media alike is proof of that.
